The Room
The room is on the raised ground floor at the front of the house. It’s large at around 18m2, nicely proportioned and has high ceilings. You can control the heating (included) in the room separately of the rest of the house to best suit your comfort.
The House
A large Victorian shared house. Two rooms have en suites, and there are three shared bathrooms and a separate toilet for the remaining rooms. The kitchen generously equipped with two ovens, two gas hobs, three fridges, a dishwasher, and plenty of storage cupboards. The separate, light and bright living room flows out onto the garden, and there is a television covered by the TV license included in the rent. The house has a separate utility room with three washing machines, and a built in drying rack system with programmable radiators, so you can quickly and easily dry your clothes. Further outside a large paved garden.
The Area
The house is well located, roughly in the middle between Brixton, Camberwell, and Oval, so you can head to any of these areas for entertainment and food shopping etc.
Brixton is twenty minutes walk away, where you can catch a movie at the Ritzy, or a quick meal in one of many eclectic restaurants in the famous and popular Brixton Village. A similar distance in the other direction is Camberwell, home of many great local restaurants, and some of the best falafel in London. The nearest pub is the Crown and Anchor, (five mins. from the house), which specialises in craft and imported beer.
The Co-op, Tesco, a large Morrisson’s and a Lidl are all a short walk from the house. Alternately, there are various independent grocery shops in Camberwell and Brixton, and outdoor markets in Myatt’s Fields and Oval at the weekend. If you just need to pop out for a pint of milk or similar, there are several small shops and a coffee shop on Lougborough Road, five minutes from the house.
If you want to stretch your legs, round the corner is Myatt’s Fields park, a beautiful Victorian park, complete with tennis courts, a cafe, and seasonal flower beds.
Location and Transport
Loughborough Junction Station – 950m / 12 mins. walk. Trains to Elephant and Castle, Blackfriars, St Pancras International etc.
Brixton, Oval, and Stockwell tube stations 17 – 19 mins walk. Northern and Victoria lines for Vauxhall, London Bridge, Oxford Circus etc.
Denmark Hill station – 20 mins. walk. London Overground trains to East London.
Buses from Brixton Road – 8 mins.
Buses from Camberwell Green – 15 mins.
The advertised rent includes all bills: gas, water, electricity, council tax, business class 1GB internet, cleaning of the common parts once a week, and shared consumables (toilet paper, hand soap, dish washing liquid etc.)
There is fast WiFi everywhere in the house with multiple WiFi access points, and additional wired access in the room for even faster speeds.
